Depending on what your other earnings are, it may not be enough to put you above the tax paying threshold but you still need to declare it. I think I'll just stick to selling my own junk then for a while then.
If I could make a decent living from it I'd so be tempted to quit my job and stay home with my twin boys.
also i just sold summer clothes thought if i save the winter clothes till the colder weather more people might bid i have spoke to a friend about this and she says she always sells bundles and they go really well as well xx thanks sarah. my clothes seemed to go really well (which are also mainly next) but boys stuff didnt really shift.

I also have a real job and a husband to pay the bills! I made 60 this week from selling some of my clothes and was thinking of searching the carboots for some bargain clothes to put on to try and make a profit that way.
they did have quite a lot of stuff to be fair my own fault allways buy to much i am busy serching the house and loft now for more stuff to put on lol Wow thats great.
One day once i've won the lottery I can give up work. Emma i've been selling off a few bits and over the last year i've made a couple of hundred mostly with old ann summers kit bits (i used to be a party organiser) now its the last few novelty gifts and a few other bits including childrens clothes from around the house.
its now bringing me in a couple of 99p sales a time, hardly worth the effort but a few quid here and there is better than nothing Emma , yes it was childrens clothes i was selling i listed them seperatly it was mainly monsoon items of dd they seemed to go really well 10 pounds plus for a dress!!
they don t charge a monthley fee but they do take a percentage of your final value that you get from each item if you start items at 99 p they is usually no charge to list items in many catorgories , my ebay fees are normally around 22 .00 but thats after i have made around 250 .00 so i think its worth it The 14.99 per month charge is only if you open a shop, thats how much it costs.
Hi , i have just started selling on ebay and made 250 last week just selling clothing and shoes my dd and ds have out grown i am amazed at the amount of money i have made and wondered if any one does this to make a regular income and if so what do you sell ? Is that your sales, or your profit after postage, ebay and paypal fees, packaging costs? Did you sell kids clothes and if so did u list them as bundles as the individual items i sold didnt really get much interest. Was just wondering though if I started to list things every week would I need to start declaring it as earnings or does it not count if it's just my stuff that I'm listing as a private seller? Thanks Emma Once you start buying stuff specifically to sell, you need to tell the tax man.You would have to register self-employed (even if you also have a 'proper' job).thanks Emma yes you can make ebay work but you have to put a lot of time and effort into it! at the mo any profit i make goes on new stock but i am building up my feedback and am proud to say i'm now a top rated seller..theres no way at the mo i could live off my ebay job but over time i'm hoping to finish work to concentrate on need to do lots of research if you are planning on doing it properly (not selling your own stuff) and will prob need to register as a business seller and inform taxman.i love it though and its the best thing i ever did!
